DUBLIN, December 07, 2021--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Brazilian Municipal Water and Wastewater Treatment Growth Opportunities" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The Brazilian municipal water and wastewater treatment market constitutes 5,565 municipalities in 27 states across 5 regions. This market analysis includes all plants and equipment used to treat municipal water and wastewater (components, tanks, plates, and distributors) but excludes pumps, valves, chemicals, microbes, monitoring equipment, and civil infrastructure.

The study explores the current state of the municipal water and wastewater treatment sector in Brazil, including a discussion of market transformations; various emerging technologies and specific solutions; and major market trends, drivers, and restraints up to 2033.

The municipal water and wastewater treatment market in Brazil is experiencing a growth phase, spurred by the recent change in legislation that allows greater participation from the private sector in upcoming bid and tender processes and opens up new growth opportunities.

Prior to this legislative change, Brazil was working on a plan to focus its efforts on the universalization of sanitation services, PLANSAB, which seeks to provide the entire population with drinking water and wastewater collection networks by the year 2033.

Private sector participation will accelerate market growth and advance the objectives established in the PLANSAB, accompanied by digital transformations based on more sustainable decisions linked to circular economy solutions.

The new, sustainable technologies and digital solutions designed for more efficient water management are topics of growing interest in the market.

Smart meters connected to the network or cloud are already being implemented in different regions, demonstrating their efficiency in reducing costs, energy use, chemicals and pollutants, and water leaks. These solutions will significantly improve resource utilization for the water market.

After Monday's bloodbath, shares of hydrogen fuel-cell specialist Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG) are on the rebound today, jumping 4.3% as of 12:05 p.m. ET. The broader market is up today, as well, but there are other reasons Plug Power stock is rising today, including a scoop that reveals part of Plug Power's growth plans. Plug Power shares sank yesterday alongside the market as fears of rising COVID-19 omicron variant cases gripped the market.

The United States has enough reserves of lithium, copper and other metals to build millions of its own electric vehicles (EVs), but rising opposition to new mines may force the country to rely on imports and delay efforts to electrify the nation's automobiles. The tension underscores the dilemma facing the United States going into 2022, a year in which U.S. policymakers hope to see groundbreakings on a raft of EV manufacturing facilities from Ford Motor Co, General Motors Co and others. President Joe Biden signaled earlier this year he prefers to rely on allies for EV metals, part of a strategy designed to placate environmentalists.

Rare earth elements are critical in making certain components for electric vehicles, renewable energy tech and more, but the U.S. is way behind production levels in China. One Arizona company, Western Rare Earths, is trying to narrow that gap by exploring the possibility of opening a rare earth element mine in La Paz County, which would be the first in the state.

Europe's energy crisis got even worse on Tuesday as a shortage of natural gas, nuclear outages, declining wind power output, and cold weather boosted prices

Falling costs and green mandates are boosting demand for batteries capable of storing large amounts of wind and solar power for later use.

Two-thirds of respondents were against a timed entry or a future reservation system at the popular reservoir west of Fort Collins.

When Jesús Solís noticed the waters of the reservoir where he had spent his entire life beginning to darken and a rotten odor taking hold, he was overcome with fear. Within weeks those initial concerns were confirmed as tens of thousands of dead fish floated to the surface, apparent victims of a spill of tequila distilling waste into a western Mexico water source. The 44-year-old fisherman watched for days as the fish he had helped raise and that he relied on for income went belly up along the shores of the San Onofre reservoir in Jalisco state.

While climbing Omicron cases have sparked fear of demand destruction, supply issues in Libya and falling U.S. oil inventories pushed prices higher

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin has said one of the reasons he can't support President Joe Biden's sweeping climate and social spending bill was that its incentives for renewable energy would put the stability of the U.S. power grid at risk. But West Virginia, the coal-reliant state Manchin represents, has the least reliable electricity in the country, according to a Reuters review of government data, and for reasons that have nothing to do with the limitations of solar and wind technology. The average electric customer in West Virginia, a state that relied on coal-fired power plants for 88% of its power needs last year, experienced 468 minutes of outages last year, excluding major weather events, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

CHICAGO (Reuters) -The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is assessing whether the weed killer dicamba can be sprayed safely on soybean and cotton plants genetically engineered to resist the chemical, without the procedure posing "unreasonable risks" to other crops, an agency official said on Tuesday. Farmers and scientists for years have reported problems with dicamba drifting away from where it is sprayed on fields, causing damage to nearby plants not modified to resist the herbicide. The EPA said it received about 3,500 reports this year indicating that more than a million acres of non-dicamba-tolerant soybean crops were allegedly damaged when the chemical drifted from where it was applied.
