On May 25, 2022, the public comment period begins for the proposal to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Renewal Permit to Bison Ranch Owners Association, Inc. for the Bison Ranch Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located in Overgaard, Arizona. The comment period ends June 27, 2022.

ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) renewal permit to discharge pollutants to Protected Surface Waters to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Bison Ranch Owners Association, Inc.

Bison Ranch Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) 2269 Highway 260 Overgaard, Arizona 85933 Navajo County

Bison Ranch Owners Association, Inc. applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.08 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Bison Ranch WWTP to an unnamed wash, tributary to Pierce Seep in the Little Colorado River Basin in Township 12 N, Range 17 E, Section 34, in Navajo County, Arizona. The Bison Ranch WWTP is a privately-owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial in the Bison Ranch Community. Sludge is sent to St Johns WWTP in St Johns, Arizona.
